Birth Story : Jensen | Jacksonville Birth Photographer

This sweet family welcomed Jensen Cole on June 7th. What a precious gift he is! While this birth story was so sweet to capture, Jensen gave us a little scare just after being born. Births are always unpredictable, but the amazing medical staff at UF Health Shands in Gainesville did a wonderful job with helping him with his initial respiratory issues. He had a short stay in the NICU, but was able to be back with his parents late that evening.

Rachel and Kaleb had this beautiful connection throughout her labor. Their little boy, Kason, was a hilarious and adorable addition to the birth team! This family had the kind support of both grandmothers, too, and we really had a wonderful time!

While we were all a little shaken up when Jensen had to go to the NICU, I’m so glad I was able to capture these first few moments for them. I’m so grateful to the nurses and doctors who allowed me to photograph everything, including the precious moments in the NICU when Jensen was able to breastfeed for the first time and his parents were able to hold him and just soak him in.
