The Birth Story of Georgia Love | Jacksonville Birth Photographer
What a beautiful birth this was!
The night started when I got a call from Jessica’s husband in the middle of the night. However, at the time, I didn’t know it was him. He said “Hi Erin. [long pause] This is your worst nightmare.” I started scanning the street in front of my house - ha! Then, I asked who it was. He said “There’s a baby coming.” Once I got the details clarified on which client this was for, I was packed and out the door in just a few minutes!
I met Jessica and Chad at the First Coast Midwifery birth center. As they walked in, Jessica couldn’t help but to stop for a couple of surges. Labor was definitely underway! Her doula, Courtney of MamaVeda, joined us soon, too. Jessica was so peaceful and controlled throughout her labor, beautifully supported by her husband, doula, and midwife, Sam. Jessica even sang to help her through each wave, as she is a classical opera singer. I have never had a client do this before, so it was really lovely to witness this unique way of coping with the surges.
Jessica utilized the birth tub to bring comfort and birthed her baby girl into the water with such grace. With tears on her face and joy in her heart, she clung to her little one, while her husband stroked her hair.
I was so grateful to be a part of this incredible day when Jessica and Chad welcomed their sweet baby girl, Georgia Love.
