An Afternoon in Anastasia Island | St. Augustine Vacation Photographer

This family is just the sweetest and most animated crew! We had such a fun adventure at Anastasia Island, in St. Augustine! We started out at the Alligator Farm to see the incredible reptiles, along with some feisty and fascinating birds! Near the end of our visit, we came across a beautifully-colored, giant bird. The smallest boy was absolutely enamored with it and I think the bird was just as enamored with him. It was adorable to see them interact!

We then made a run for the beach to cool off on this hot summer day! Their daughter brought her surfboard and caught numerous waves! I grabbed my GoPro and jumped in the water with them. It was such a blast! The family played in and out of the ocean for the next couple of hours and never seemed to run out of energy. They discovered a dead crab, which turned into several minutes of entertainment as they were chasing each other (and me) with it!

After our time at the beach, we rinsed off, packed up, and headed over to Cone Heads Ice Cream for some sweet treats to finish our day. The sugar kicked in and the kids were as goofy as ever! They played “I Spy” while we watched the sun go down and enjoyed our ice cream.

I love photographing families and capturing the heart of who they are. You can see that while there was so much silliness and fun, there were also some very tender moments that speak to their closeness and love for one another. Storytelling Photography documents memories for families that are real, unique to them, and gives them something they can always look back on to remember how this time in their lives felt, which can be so powerful.
