The Birth Story of Pearce Valor | Jacksonville Birth Photographer
This first-time mom was such an inspiration! When I first met Stacy, she exuded joy. I loved seeing that joy grow even more when she finally got to meet her little boy.
Stacy’s labor had a very quick onset and she worked through the waves at home until she was about 8 cm dilated. She did amazing!
With her through it all was her sister who had arrived to her house earlier that day to help with something. Suddenly, Stacy realized she was in labor, so her she stuck around. It was beautiful to see how attentive she was the entire day. Rebecca, of A Hand to Hold Doula, was also with her throughout the whole experience. She stroked her hair, did hip squeezes, and talked her through the pain.
While at home, she was cared for so beautifully by the Jacksonville Community Midwives, as well, along with Dr. Bethanie of Revolution Chiropractic who provided a neck adjustment for her, as well as some hip squeezes.
Stacy’s original plan was to have her baby at home, but she felt like the baby was malpositioned and not descending, so we headed to the hospital for her to have some relief from the intensity.
When we arrived to the hospital, it was a few hours before she was fully dilated and ready to push. Her baby was still quite high, so after pushing for a little while, she rested in an upright or “throne” position to help him descend. When he had come down a bit, she began pushing again, and we could soon see the top of his head. Stacy’s sister excitedly exclaimed “I can see the hair!”, which was such a fun and motivating moment.
Her baby boy joined us earthside and smiles filled the space.
