The Birth Story of Barrett Dwight | Jacksonville Birth Photographer
This birth was so special to me. I’ve known DeeAnna for nearly 20 years, and she was also my first three-peat client. However, even more significant than those things, this was a redemptive birth experience for her. The first two were very difficult for different reasons. This one was swift, sweet, and peaceful. I loved getting to see DeeAnna and her husband, Daniel, get to have such a beautiful birth experience this time with First Coast Midwifery.
With her history of a quick labor for the last one, we were on high-alert. I remember getting an initial text that labor had started and then, within an hour, things picked up and we were all off to the birth center. She walked in and immediately had to pause for a surge. The midwife and birth assistant did their initial assessments, and then DeeAnna got in the birth tub.
The atmosphere was light and calm as she labored. Her surges were strong, but she worked through them with such grace and perseverance. Just a short time after their arrival, sweet Barrett made his way earthside. Daniel had planned to catch the baby, but the midwife needed to unwrap the cord from around his neck. Barrett was placed upon DeeAnna’s chest and she let out a deep sigh. The smiles exchanged and the joy shared were so precious.
Getting to be alongside one of my dearest friends for the birth of their third child just filled my heart. I was so happy that they finally got a healing and redemptive birth experience. Enjoy their sweet story below.
