The Birth Story of Kennedy Grace | Jacksonville Birth Photographer
This beautiful, swift home birth was so sweet, and a joy to document. Midwife Sam with First Coast Midwifery arrived at the same time as me. She was dressed up for a fancy dinner out with her family, and we joked about how this Christine’s “Fairy Midwife” had arrived. This mama was already in the throes of intense labor, so things got more serious quickly. We encouraged Christine, and waited with her. Her husband, Justus, was incredibly attentive and intuitive in giving her the support she needed, when she needed it. She stayed in the bathroom for the nearly the entire time and I found a little spot on the floor to document from in the last few minutes before their baby arrived. I love having a front-row seat to these life-changing, transformative moments.
Christine gave birth standing up and it was utterly incredible. She gripped onto her husband, leaned into the surge with such strength, and her baby was birthed gracefully into the hands of Midwife Sam. The moments that followed were filled with joy and relief as she held onto her squishy, sweet baby girl. Her daddy and siblings were so excited to finally meet her. Kennedy Grace, you are so loved!
